Microsoft 365 Features You Should Be Using, But Aren’t

There’s more to Microsoft 365 (M365) than just Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Among the many tools available to help promote productivity and innovation within your organization, there are quite a few underutilized Microsoft 365 features you should be leveraging in your day-to-day, like Power Automate, Bookings and so much more.

Power Automate

A great way to increase productivity is automation. By leveraging tools like Power Automate, your team will be able to focus on the tasks that make an impact on your organization.  Here are a few of the many things Power Automate can do:

  • Approval flows: Streamlining processes like invoice approvals
  • Robotic process automation (RPA): Automate manual tasks like data entry.
  • Automated Email Alerts: Stay updated on key business actions.

Microsoft Planner

There’s no need to look outside of Microsoft 365 features for a project management app when Microsoft Planner is readily available. Microsoft Planner allows you to assign projects, plan sprints and proactively manage projects. This tool integrates seamlessly with all other M365 programs such as Teams, Word and more.

Microsoft Bookings

This next Microsoft 365 feature you should know about is Microsoft Bookings. This appointment and meeting management platform integrates with Outlook so your customers or clients can book an appointment that works for them. This can also be used in Teams so colleagues can easily meet with you at a time that suits everyone’s busy schedules.

Microsoft Forms

Another underutilized Microsoft 365 feature is its Forms feature. Whether you need to garner customer or team feedback, create an event registration, or conduct a poll, Microsoft  Bookings can do that and more. Once answers are in, this M365 tool creates an in-depth analysis of the answers. That analysis can be exported to Excel for an even deeper analytic dive.

Microsoft Copilot

AI is making a big splash in the business world. Copilot is a popular AI tool for businesses to use because the enterprise level has robust cybersecurity features. Once your team gets the hang of AI you’ll notice time-saving and productivity benefits. Here’s what Copilot does best:

  • Text-to-presentation conversion
  • Summarization of articles, meetings, emails and more
  • Creative writing assisting tasks such as grammar help, creating outlines and helping with clarity.
